About Matilda The Musical

Matilda The Musical is the multi award-winning musical from the Royal Shakespeare Company, inspired by the beloved book by the incomparable Roald Dahl.

With book by Dennis Kelly and original songs by Tim Minchin, Matilda The Musical is the story of an extraordinary little girl who, armed with a vivid imagination and a sharp mind, dares to take a stand and change her own destiny.

Winner of 100 international awards, including 24 for Best Musical, Matilda continues to delight audiences of all ages.

See it if you want to be blown away by a talented cast of kids singing Tim Minchin songs.

Don’t see it if you hate kids in shows.

Delightful, Quirky, Great writing, Funny

See it if you like Roald Dahl's book. It's closer to the book than the movie. Very cleverly written lyrics too, expected from Tim Minchin.

Don’t see it if you don't like kids. Or Tim Minchin. Also, it may get a bit too dark for kids during a couple of scenes.

See it if If you love Roald Dahl, or if you enjoy musicals with witty lyrics and engaging stories. Also if you like inventive sets and costumes.

Don’t see it if You dislike theatre aimed at younger audiences.
